Jane Eyre was sent to work as a governess to the ward of Mr. Rochester. Thornfield Hall is a spooky and mysterious place with many secrets. Jane and Mr. Rochester became fond of each other and grow very fond of each other after Jane saves Mr. Rochester from a fire that broke out in his room while he was sleeping. Their bond is sealed when Jane is able to keep Mr. Rochester's secret. Their fondness for each other is drawn short because the secret of Thornfield keeps growing, but will Jane be able to look past this to the man she loves?

This is a beautiful story of love, loss, and redemption. It is a very nice audio performance as well. I’m so glad that I invested the time to listen to it.

Wonderful classic

One of the very few Audible English classic novels intelligently narrated. The narration of this Jane Eyre is unmarked by the foolish approximations of “voicing” marring most of the Audible recordings. Audible renders most classics, British, American, European, or otherwise, with a myriad of absurd, miserable accents. Audible has forgotten that each author of the many classics was intended to be read, not play-acted, as though on stage. These fine classics should be read and only read by each narrator. Not acted with characterizations of each character’s supposed accent, most of which are ruined by narrators who sound like they are passing kidney stones. But they don’t learn, do they . . .

A wonderfully narrated classic.
