Mavis always assumed that she would be in a hospital with the good drugs when her time came. Not in the middle of the road, with no one around but the damn town mechanic that hated her.

But there she was, having a rock star’s baby, with no one to rely on but the one that let it be known around every turn that she was a horrible person.

From the time that she met Murphy and became best friends with him at the age of eight, she knew he was destined for greatness.

But then her grandmother fired Murphy’s mom, forcing them to live on the streets, and making Murphy to realize that maybe they weren’t best friends after all.

Murphy loved Mavis.

At least, he had when he was younger, before she betrayed him.

From that moment forward, Murphy goes out of his way to stay the hell away from her, and always makes sure to never get too close. Even though everything inside of him screams to make contact.

When he moves back to town after being gone for five years, he tries his best to stay away.

But there she is at his CrossFit gym. Then having a baby on the side of the road. Oh, and breaking him a little more with each step she takes away.

Eventually, they find their way back to each other. The only problem is, by the time that Mavis makes her way back into his heart, it breaks. And not in a rhetorical way. In the ‘he only has days to live’ kind of way.

Love the book the series this one had my emotions all messed up if you haven't listened to any of Lani's book you should definitely get book 1 & 2

Great Narration. Great story. Wonderful story: heartwarming, heart wrenching. Lots of unexpected twists and turns. I love this series and can’t wait for the next in this series. Lani Lynn Vale is a definite go to favorite author.

Too sad for me....way too sad for mw

Are you kidding me? If I wanted to cry like a baby and be depressed for hours I would have listened to a Nicolas Sparks novel. Good grief! This book made me cry......I actually freaking cried! I don’t want to cry sad tears! No comic relief, even the HEA says “oh he’ll need another heart in about 15 years.” Damn Gina! What the actual hell?! I love these two characters. Dang.....even now.....sad sad sad.

One of the Best Ever!

I swear Lani Lynn Vale could write a book about mowing and it would be a #1 best seller!!! She's freaking amazing!!! Scouts Honor, I wasn't sure about "books about Cross Fit".... then I read Book 1 and was mesmerized! if I was in better shape, I'd take it up because everyone loves to hate it...so they really love it! But the books are about way more than excercising! This book, as LLV I believe said, tears your heart out, then puts it back together. She always gives us a HEA! ❤❤❤ I had read when released, and still couldn't wait for the Audio version, and it didn't disappoint. I may have cried even more listening. Lance Greenfield and Raven Rose did a great job, I loved every minute. Thank you all!! ❤❤

Tear Jerker
