Hockey superstar Corbin Knight is a recipe for trouble…and I’m ready to take a bite.
The sexy single dad is not only a world-class hockey player, but my brother’s best friend. Strictly off-limits, and always has been.
But when I inherit an old firehouse to transform into my dream bakery? The bossy, protective athlete also becomes my hero, buying in when the financing falls through. I have to keep reminding myself – no more flirting with my new business partner… no matter how tempting he looks helping me paint.
It’s a good rule to remember when he starts making surprise shirtless appearances after each win. Insists I wear his jersey to games. Stands up for me when a celebrity chef is rude. Soon, his heated glances make me feel like I’m the answer to his dreams.
Falling for the hockey player I work with could cost us everything: the bakery, his friendship with my brother, and my family who already thinks I’m a hot mess.
But when Corbin shows up after a rough game one night and tells me he can’t stop thinking about me and hasn’t been able to for years?
I’m ready to break all the rules.

Mabel is a fantastic baker who just can't seem to succeed. everything seems to come down around her and she doesn't seem to get support from anyone. In fact, she had to flee her town as a young woman wh÷en they made her a laughing stock. Her own parents don't support her and she has even become a meme.
When Mabel finds out that she has an opportunity to open a bakery in her hometown her brother talks his best friend, Corbin into investing in it with her and helping her out. It has always been a dream of his and he has always had a crush on his best friend's little sister.
The story is great. It is told Duet by Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor. They actually performed it live. The blooper reel is hilarious.
This book is definitely one you don't want to miss.

Lauren never fails to give us a fantastic store full of banter, sweetness, and spice. I loved this book so much. I laughed out loud multiple times. Feeling connection with the characters almost immediately.
Mabel is a baker fresh off a break up trying to put her life together and dreams of opening her own bakery some day. She is a bit of a hot mess so when her brother suggests that his best friend co open a bakery with her she’s excited but skeptical because Corbin is her complete opposite as he’s very organized and has his life together.
Corbin is a hockey player single dad he’s focused and organized in his everyday life. When his best friend suggests the opportunity to help his sister open a bakery he agrees and things get very interesting from there.
Overall, a very sweet and spicy hockey romance. This will have you smiling and swooning the hole way through.
Great listen!
