Sometimes it's hard to strike the right chord.

Margot Reid has everything prepared for her first year of college. She picked her major, registered early for classes, and even brought the perfect roommate.

The one thing she didn’t plan for is the annoying guy who plays guitar across the hall.

Jackson Phillips may be insanely good looking, but he’s also insufferable. From the moment Margot confronts him about his constant playing, the one thing they can agree on is wanting to avoid each other at all costs. It seems like a solid plan.

That is, until their roommates and closest friends start dating. Then every study date and late night forces them together.

Whatever pull they feel between them is purely physical. It has to be. At least, that’s what Margot tells herself. She’s smart enough to know falling for Jackson Phillips would be a disaster. Especially when he leaves campus to become a rockstar, and she’s still studying in her dorm.

But Jackson isn’t about to let her off that easy.

Just Don’t Call Me Yours is a spicy enemies to lovers college romance filled with witty banter, sizzling sexual tension, and of course, rock and roll.

Incredible performance by R.L. Hemm and Jay Parker. Heartfelt college romance where characters battle an awkward meet cute to move beyond disliking each other to reluctantly falling for each other. First book in series! Well written with incredible banter.

OMG!! I cannot tell you how much I loved this book! It kept me hooked and I can tell you that Margot and Jackson are going to steal your hearts!! Thank you so much Heather for the chance you've given me to also listen this AMAZING, ADDICTING story!!

The relationship between Margot and Jackson is not the best from the beginning. Jackson is a young, talented guitarist, who is disturbing the silence of his colleague who lives next door (Margot). From there on, everything just keeps pushing Margot buttons and knowing the she cannot stand that boy.

The banter between these two was THE BEST! I just loooved reading all their funny meetings and their teasing on each other. It was a clear attraction between them and you could just feel the sparkles flying when they touch even just an inch.

Even though Margot seemed too scared about her feelings, it didn't made me hate her and I understood her side of the story. Jackson is such a sweetheart and always has his good mood and jokes with him, which made me fall for him instantly.

An important part to the story was played by their best friends, Rae and Matt. They were rooting from the beginning for their friends to be together too, but the hate between Margot and Jackson was pretty visible to everyone. Until everything changed. And they secretly started something together.

The audio experience has added to how much I adore this book! I really liked that each character kept their lines, alternating even in their own chapters. These types of audio books are hitting different, being so easy to fall into the story. I liked that details were respected, like when they were speaking on the phone, making everything even more genuine.

I truly, truly recommend this book! It was perfect from my point of view and I definitely recommend it to give it a chance! It became one of my favorite books!

I don't know what to say about this book and I want to be fair. Jackson and Margot are freshmen in college and are dorm neighbors. He's a budding rockstar and she's a total pain! They have a hot and cold relationship and Margot carries the blame with her push and pull behavior with Jackson. He tries to be nice, she's rude and condescending. The back and forth arguing is so tiring, made worse by Margot's wishy washy feelings. She fights not to like him, but won't admit that she really does feel a lot for him. She can't admit to her real feelings and that gets old. Rae and Matt and excellent characters who move the story forward with a light-hearted storyline. I really wish I loved it, but it wasn't possible when I felt a sense of sadness as I read.
I listened to the audiobook version and R L Hemm and Jay Parker do a wonderful job with the narration. Their dynamic, well-modulated voices perfectly portrayed the characters, bringing them to life and giving each their own voice and personality. They set the perfect tone for the story and capture the characters' emotions and project them into the performance.

Nice story!
