I absolutely love everything Tijan has written. I hope we get more of Kess and Wraith.

Quick but complete story

This story was a quick filler to read between Crew Princess and Always Crew...related but with completely different characters. I liked both Kess and Christopher as characters, but I disliked the concept of Kess' crew (or now lack thereof, I guess) when I'm so used to how the Wolf Crew and others have been run. Tijan wrote this story well, so I didn't feel like it needed to be longer.

The narration, however, left something to be desired. Both voices were very nasally, and the female narration lacked inflection, even with dialogue. I stuck with it throughout the entire story, but I'm glad it was a novella.

I love Tijan but…

Honestly this one left me feeling like why even tell this story unless it’s a prequel for another book. There really wasn’t much of a story here.
