Mason Kade is not known to be nice. He is ruthless, manipulative, and unforgiving. Most will say that he is a jerk, and he is to those that cross him or cross his loved ones. However, he does not want to be who he is. He does not enjoy hurting others, but there is no limit to the lengths he will go to protect himself and his brother. This is the story of how he came to be, and this is why so many love Mason Kade.

This is a story of a destroyed family and the effects it had on a son.

Mason - What can I say? I’ve been dying for this to come to audio, and guess what? I loved loved loved it. Mason Kade has always been my hero, but this story made me fall in love with him just a little bit more, if that was at all possible. It made me understand the psychi between the 2 brothers, who although they had a very privileged upbringing, did had not have very much in the way of family and love. Fantastic on audio, thank you to perfect narration from Graham Halstead. I really loved Mason's POV.

I read this after reading book one of the series. This book happened before the first book. It really helped me to understand some of the stuff the brothers did in book one. It made the reasons for Mason's hate for his dad and Sam's mom and the bond between the brothers so much more clear. It made me really like Mason even more and definitely makes me what to continue the series.

This was an interesting start to the series. I don't usually like very young characters but it held my interest and I will probably continue with the rest of the series. If child neglect, cheating and young main characters bother you, then it's not for you. If that's all interesting to you, then check it out!
