They say revenge isn’t justice, but they’ve never had to scrape their father’s blood off the floor.

My name is Vienna Drew. I was raised with a gun in one hand and a code in the other. My father didn’t teach me how to be soft—he taught me how to survive. Now he’s gone, murdered without a trace, and I’m going to find the person who did it. Then I’m going to burn their world to ash.

The problem? I can’t stop collecting men as I go. Merrick is unexpected devotion wrapped in order—a man freshly released from a mental health facility with inescapable devotion in his eye. Fletcher is a privileged hacker with fast fingers, a twisted sense of humor, and access to the information I need. I didn’t want to ask for their help and I struggle to trust, but they’re tangled in this now, and so am I.

But I’m not the only one hunting.

Chaos is coming for me in the form of a federal agent. He wants me—where is the only question.

Every move I make pulls apart a web of lies, buried secrets, and calculated betrayals. I won’t stop, I can’t—not until the last piece falls into place, and I can finally look my father's killer in the eye.And when I do, they’ll learn exactly what kind of song they created.

First off, yay for anti-heros!

Bonus points, bust out your psych 101, cuz this is just fun!

I love how we get to know these complex characters through the POVs and to watch all the little interactions having big effect on people.

Romance, mystery, house-husbands, and that weird smell coming from the basement... I devoured this book in 24hrs and bought the next in series when I noticed there was only 2 hours left and absolutely had to know how this plays out.

so good, 1st 2 chapters & hooked

I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy this even though I I like heather’s other work. I liked the extremely strong main character, she stayed strong and didn’t turn into a whiny helpless woman once the guys started joining her.

Enjoyed

I like Vienna. I don’t like Fletcher. I didn’t like Rick at first. He was childlike, not something you want in a romance novel. He grew one me though, and I really liked him by the end of the book. I typically like RH, but this one isn’t put together in a way that I am ok with the “why choose” situation. Rick and Vienna already started a relationship, and he didn’t like fletcher. He was possessive. It felt too much like cheating. I felt she was betraying him. There was too much competition. It would have been a great regular relationship romance. I am going to read the next one, will see if it gets better.

Not quite sure how I feel about this

Vienna Drew is not your typical FMC. She's a serial killer following in her father's footsteps, hunting monsters. Which, honestly, is a pretty refreshing change from the usual "damaged but noble" heroine. The premise hooked me immediately. Long and Blessing do a great job keeping the suspense high, and the mystery element had me guessing throughout. Vienna meets Merrick first (sweet, protective, a little unhinged), and then Fletcher (flirty tech genius with a smart mouth). The chemistry between all of them is smoking hot, and there's real emotional depth starting to build. The pacing was solid, and I was fully engaged. My only complaint is that it ends on a cliffhanger, which I both love and hate. But I was immediately reaching for the next book, so mission accomplished.
