They say you can’t save a person who doesn’t want to be saved.Good thing I wasn’t trying to save her—only back her up, every step of the way.

My name is now Rick Drew. Fresh out of a facility they called a hospital and I called a cage, I wasn’t looking for redemption. I wasn’t looking for anything. Then I found her bleeding in an alley, and everything I thought I wanted burned to ash.

Vienna Drew is sharp edges and steady hands, the only person who's ever seen the fractured pieces of me and didn’t flinch. She didn’t run. She drew a line in the dirt and dared me to cross it. So I did. Now I’d kill for her. I’d die for her. I’ve already done worse. But she’s not mine alone.

Fletcher—too clever, too loud, too damn charming—comes with secrets that breathe down our necks and danger with a smile. I don’t like him. I don’t trust him. But she does. So I’ll keep him alive. And if his chaos touches her? I’ll end it.

Because keeping her safe is the only thing that makes sense anymore.

And just when I thought I could keep the monsters outside, a new one steps into the ring. He wears a badge, but I see the way he watches her—like a predator. Like prey. I don’t care which. If he’s a man, he’ll bleed. If he’s a monster, I’ll make sure he begs first.

Vienna’s chasing death like it owes her something. And me? I’m the shadow behind her, the silence before the storm.

Let them come. I’ve already decided who I protect—and what I’m willing to do to make sure she lives long enough to burn the world down.

First Chorus is a full length dark adult romance and psychological thriller with suspenseful themes. Any trigger warnings will be included in the foreword. Some situations may be uncomfortable for listeners. This is a reverse harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book two in the series.

The suspense continues to ramp up here, and the stakes feel higher. Vienna is juggling her relationships with Merrick and Fletcher while dealing with the fallout from book one, and the guys are slowly figuring out how to coexist for her sake. It's entertaining watching them navigate that dynamic. The mystery deepens, more secrets get revealed, and the tension stays high throughout. The spice is plentiful and well-done. Another cliffhanger ending, because of course. But I was hooked enough to keep going.

Well things just got very interesting! Talk about a cliffhanger. I feel for Rick and Fletch they are so attached to Vienna and are helpless in the matter at this point. I’m glad they’ve finally come around to liking one another and depending on each other. Can’t wait to see where the sorry takes us.

It’s a yes for me

Adam Gold really shined in this installment I feel. The amount of voices he did and how different he made them was fantastic and incredibly immersive! Now for the story, I really loved how the authors are forming the bonds between the men. We’re not there yet at all with Cash but with how this book ended… oh boy.

Things really only picked up at the end for me though but I didn’t mind it one bit. I love the relationship building in these books. Though that’s not to say the plot is completely on the back burner for the entire book. It’s always there and they continue to leave little breadcrumbs that keep you on your toes and guessing what’ll happen next. Which is why I’m immediately off to book three.

Fantastic narration
