captivating

Could not put this novel down once I understood the characters and how they related to one another. Mystery to the end, an ending I thought very creative and did not see coming. Have read the whole series and each one is so well written and builds on the others. Highly recommend

Another excellent story

As always a beautiful human and dog romance with the correct amount of crooks and manipulators. Serial killers and the grit of a female marine and current tree-cop dog handler.

I have enjoyed the three books so far and looking forward to the 4th release this Fall. I really like the series.

Several books including this one, plus TV, refer to dishonest police officers. It’s a little scary.

So many inconsistencies

The second a law enforcement officer thinks he has been drugged he calmly goes with the person who drugged him? NOT A CHANCE!! And then not getting a tox screen? Really? This was not a rookie. He was experienced and would have known her end game was to get him fired. There is no way he would have gone to work and tried to hide what happened.
Also at the end, knowing that there was another person in the barn she runs to her dog without looking? Really?
Towards the end of the book, I was more frustrated with the plot holes and couldn’t wait for the book to end. More than a little disappointed.
