The Undercover Assassin

Quain Beaumont is paid to kill people and he’s good at it. When he’s contracted, for a hefty sum, to protect a district attorney’s son in New Gothenburg, he can’t say no. However, he doesn’t expect Barber to be such an attractive pain in the ass. Complicating matters, Barber is part of the Kings of Men MC. He can’t risk a romantic attraction to a target, but Barber’s charm makes it hard not to fall into bed with him.

The Shit-Stirring Biker

There’s nothing more exciting to Luke “Barber” Booth than pulling pranks and causing problems. The reactions he gets out of people keep his days interesting, even if it sometimes results in fist fights with his club brothers. His next-door business neighbor is no different. Quain is uptight, so Barber takes pleasure in annoying him, which ensures nearly daily visits from Quain to the barber shop. Quain might be a whiny hairstylist, but he’s beautiful. Barber is only too happy to take a bite out of him.

An Attempted Murder and Confessions

When there’s an attempt on Barber’s life, Quain does what he’s been paid to do — protect him — but Barber’s uncle and cousin are kidnapped instead. In order to set things right, Quain must admit the truth to Barber about his undercover status and assignment. To Barber’s disgust, they need to work together to get his family back. By the end of this mess, it’s not only their lives at risk, but their hearts, too.

I was so excited to listen to this story. Love this series. Luke the Barber is a amazing character I love his personality and charm. Quain is a hard egg but Luke works him easily. They are perfectly matched to compliment each other. There story is fun and exciting and a amazing adventure. The narration was perfect.

Luke is a barber (hence his nickname). Quain is an assassin. His latest job is bodyguarding a pain in the butt, endearing, gruff, motorcycle riding, playful barber. I liked their give and take. Snark was off the charts, as was the sexual relationship.

I haven’t read (or listened) to any other books in the series but I didn't feel lost. There are a lot of characters and relationships to navigate though. KC definitely needs his own story.

This is one book I should of read before listening to the audio. I felt that maybe this was the wrong narrator for this story.

I have read many of the Kings of Men MC books, but not this one, so the story was new to me. I enjoyed the story and the relationship between Barber/Luke and Quain. The pace was good and there was plenty of action in addition to a steamy romance. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because the narrator’s voice seemed off, like is was mechanized even though I know it was not

Barber loves to stir up trouble. The troublemaker of the Kings MC, he loves to get a laugh out of people.
His next door shop neighbor is one such person and Quain is someone Barber cannot stop messing with.
But, when things get dicey and Barber gets into some trouble, it's then when Quains true identity shines.

An action packed story, full with secrets, mystery, drama, sexy chemistry, the Kings MC and a great ending.

The narrarion was what let this down for me. Mr Ladd just didn't connect well with characters in my opinion and it took alot to get to the end of this one.

The Troublemakers Protector

I loved getting a deeper look into Barber. In the earlier books he comes across as a bit of a screw-up drunk, and here we get to see how he values his family and MC brothers. I love his interactions with Quain with how they get on each other’s nerves so much in the beginning until they start acting on their attraction. By the end of the book Quain and Barber seem like they would totally prank the rest of the guys as a team in future books, they both love the thrill, lol I thought the narrator did a good job overall, but some of the voices didn’t really match what I would have expected, which maybe is because his voice is deeper to begin with.

Fun with Barber
