DANGEROUS LIAISON

Ever since the tragic death of his parents, Porsche's life has been a balancing act between attending college and bartending to support his younger brother and pay off his deadbeat uncle's gambling debt. When he witnesses a gang of thugs attacking a handsome young man in the alley behind his bar, he's reluctant to intervene--until he's offered fifty thousand baht to help the stranger escape. The stranger is known as Kinn, the second son of a notorious crime family. Impressed with Porsche's fighting skills, Kinn makes a proposition: if Porsche agrees to become his personal bodyguard, his debts will be absolved. Porsche doesn't want any trouble, especially not the kind of trouble Kinn deals in. But Kinn always gets what he wants.

so not a fan of the narrator! he was extremely whiny sounding for the whole entire thing and it made it really hard to finish the story. the story was very intense and I did like that about it it was an ultimate cat and mouse game and a back and forth struggle between the two main characters. the story itself was okay and the cliffhanger doable but like I said the narrator was kind of bad. so this is one thing that happens in books a lot it's a good book but a bad narrator and a narrator will make or break a book. I would suggest to pass on this book the story is decent the narrator kills it.

yeah I barely made it through

This is a title I had wanted to read, but I'm glad I gave myself the chance to enjoy hearing it. Understanding that it was a Thai background danmei of sorts threw me off a little - only because I didn't realize it until later. But it didn't take away from the experience. The narrator executed the anger and frustration of each character very clearly. Honestly, in my biased opinion (as a manhwa/manhua/manga & danmei) reader, I didn't have a problem with the trope or even how the connection between the two characters was made. It's not a cliche mafia introduction, and it doesn't focus too much on that trope in itself. The story revolves around Kinn and Porsche, and I didn't hesitate to keep hearing it.

Couldn't put it down

Over and over MC1 was grabbed , slapped, abused, mistreated and manipulated into doing things he didn’t want to do. All because he tried to help someone. None of the characters were decent people, besides the little brother. It was just ridiculous, people literally acting insane and everyone just going along with it or acting like the person saying it was crazy behavior or bad behavior was the one in the wrong. Then after weeks of abuse and manipulation and physical and mental bullying he is drugged and then non consensually r*ped by the bully who two minutes earlier said he would never force himself on someone and wanted his consent. The entire scene was him screaming no, don’t and it hurts and the r*pist saying he couldn’t help himself. So I will not be continuing this series. I also agree with this dude is super strong and talented but the second someone grabs him he’s weak. He beat up 5 men with weapons but one man grabs his arm and he can’t get loose. Another man grabs him and he’s almost kidnapped, ONE man. But multiple times during the book he takes on multiple men, and at the start he holds down a large bodyguard and smokes a cigarette while doing it. So which is it? He’s capable or he’s weak, pick on.,

Non Con while drugged and screaming no

Very different and love the unique societal make-up. Please continue to get out audiobook versions. It was enjoyable to have such well formed MC's-and both pretty dominant at that.

Wow! Bring more to Audible, please!

So I have read the English translated novels by two different translators and watched the series before starting this audio version.
The narrator is completely whiny and annoying. It really needed two narrators to keep the parts from blending together so much. The mispronunciation of the names is also annoying.
If you don’t have any familiarity with the series you will like it, as many of the things I mentioned will not annoy you. As a fan I was disappointed.

Took a lot to finish.
