Better in audiobook

I read this book years ago and despite the story being well-written I had a hard time connecting with the characters. But the audio redeemed it in my eyes. Hearing Duncan and Marlaina perform these characters made it more enjoyable. I suggest going into the story blind. The narrators definitely made my initial rating of the ebook above average.

Single father romance

Griffin's main priority is his son Levi and then his restaurant King's. A relationship was never on his radar until he meets his neighbor Ava. The attraction is instant.

Ava has trust issues when it comes to men. Being cheated on in the past has left her with a wall around her heart. When she meets Griffin there's an instant attraction and she adores his son Levi, but as they spend more time together and feelings get stronger will Ava give Griffin a chance or will she let her HEA get away.

Quick, cute.

Ash’s reads are always a good time—and I’m loving all the ‘Fighting’ books because there’s crossover and I get to see how previous leads ended up. Very nice touch.

He’s a reformed manwh0re and she’s been burned one too many times, so she friendzones him. Oh and he has an adorable kid—making the whole thing light and fun.

Single dad

I love Nikki's books, and while this was a cute story, I couldn't really connect to it like I had her previous books. It seemed like the whole focus was on Ava's past trauma. While it was definitely a big part of her life and why she was like that, it just went over a tad for me. I love single parent trope, so definitely give it a chance. Overall, I don't regret listening to it.

This was my first time listening to these narrators. They did a good job portraying the characters.

I liked this book. Single dad. A good flow to the story. I listened to this on Audible. Newer narrators, I haven't listened to them before. They did a good job.
