My study and preaching of the Psalms began in March 2016. As I studied the various psalmists (known and unknown), there were many times I felt like I was reading their personal journals. The more I searched the history of each Psalm, the more I felt like I was there with the psalmist each time. I witnessed Heman thinking darkness was his only companion (Psalm 88:18). I experienced the feeling of almost backsliding with Asaph (Psalm 73:2). And I cried with David when a close companion betrayed him (Psalm 55:12-14).
