On March 13, 2016, I began an expository sermon series based on the Psalms. By the time I finish preaching them and writing the books, I will publish nine volumes. I desire that this, and all subsequent books, help you see yourself in the lives of the various psalmists as they share their ups and downs and what they did to glorify God in all things. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Paul wrote the epistle to the Colossians, refuting all false claims about God. My study and preaching of the Psalms began in March 2016. As I studied the various psalmists (known and unknown), there were many times I felt like I was reading their personal journals. The more I searched the history of each Psalm, the more I felt like I was there with the psalmist each time. I witnessed Heman thinking darkness was his only companion (Psalm 88:18). I experienced the feeling of almost backsliding with Asaph (Psalm 73:2). And I cried with David when a close companion betrayed him (Psalm 55:12-14).

Too many parents, pastors, and people focus on what they value but often neglect to express why it is critical or essential. The fundamentals of the apostles’ doctrine are eternally essential. They are not creeds of words of mere man; they are God’s absolute Word. Because we belong to Jesus, we should want to please Him and obey His Word.

Praise, worship, thankfulness, and blessing Almighty God fill the lyrics of the final sixteen Psalms. The written word of mankind is a revelatory tool, offering insight into a person, place, or thing. When it’s used to express ideas about a person, the reader gains insight into that person’s character and, in some sense, comes to know that person. The Holy Bible is God’s written Word and a revelatory tool, offering insight into God’s attributes and thus revealing God’s character. Through studying His Word, a person can learn about Him and come to a greater understanding of His true identity.

If you only used the English definition of mystery, you may think of it as mysterious and ominous. But, when you define it Biblically, you realize that the mysteries of God are meant to be understood, taught, and applied. That is why Paul said, “Behold, I will explain a mystery to you.” (1 Corinthians 15:51, CEV). Therefore, you can and must understand God’s mysteries. They are solved, and God wants everyone to comprehend them. And, for those God has called to preach, He wants them to be faithful stewards, sharing them with His Church!

As I reviewed the twenty psalms in this sixth volume, I noticed a recurring theme: these Psalms reveal the beauty of God’s salvation. No other religion has its deity become an actual human being to save their people, except Christianity. Our most holy and righteous God became our sin so that we could become His righteousness. On March 15, 2020, the world changed. Cities, states, provinces, and nations closed their borders and went into a global lockdown. Churches had to resort to online services, with only a few allowed to attend in person. Some had to close in-person services completely. In 2010 I wrote Look Again, a book detailing God’s truth about the Second Coming. In 2021, I wrote a condensed version of that book with updated ideas. The book you now read is the work of over twenty years of study, prayer, and research. God compelled me to change the title from Look Again to Of Those Days in this revision. Unprejudiced, equitable, unbiased, honest, and just are just a few synonymous words to describe the word impartial. The word impartial means to treat or affect all equally. Regardless of the situations the psalmists found themselves in, they gave impartial praise to the One True God. There were times they felt like praising God, and times they didn't; yet, regardless of their circumstance, the 17 Psalms in this volume highlight their adoration and exaltation of Almighty God.
