Do you want to live longer? Chances are, your answer is a resounding yes! But is living longer enough? Most of us also want to live well—to enjoy the good health, vitality and happiness of our younger years all the way into our later years.

How do we do that?

Live Younger Longer outlines six steps to preserving the essential characteristics of youth while also fighting disease and extending life. You don’t need to make big life changes or summon depths of willpower; in fact, evidence indicates these tactics really aren’t that effective.

What you need instead is an open mind, some creativity and a commitment to living your life at its fullest.

As a two-time cancer survivor, Dr. Kopecky has dedicated himself to discovering what it is that will keep him alive and healthy for as long as possible. In this book, he shares what he’s learned—through research, care for his patients and his own experiences. Dr. Kopecky invites you to join him on his journey of exploration as he discovers what really matters for health and longevity.

In this book, Dr. Kopecky offers his insights on:

  • The best foods to eat and why
  • Getting the most fitness in the least amount of time
  • Why sleep habits matter
  • The dangers of stress and what to do about it

I enjoyed the authenticity of the author and his relation to his own health journey. He could’ve used more peer reviewed literature to discuss his points on diet instead what felt more anecdotal.

Above average in all aspects

I enjoyed this audible book. The information was relevant and the narrator was easy to listen to. I completed this in two days.

Great information

the author is associated with Mayo clinic and since I like everything about Mayo clinic I'm not an objective reviewer. the book offers mostly common Sense advice but does provide some specific medical rationale behind the advice. it also offers some practical considerations. for instance, if a person is only on a diet for a short period of time the diet won't provide long-term results. a lifestyle changes needed. I found the discussion of body weight and fitness at the end of the book very interesting.

Like beating a dead horse way after the horse is dead. Would have been better if it was one fourth the length.

Many details go on way after the point is made.

The book is more a self dev book with not a lot of health related content, huge parts of the book give you (not very creative) suggestions / tips on how to create in general habits (things like reward urself after doing something good). He even differentiate between tips for Millenials to form a good habits and tips for the others. Huge parts of the books. So unrelated to the title and category. On the health side, very very basic, with nothing new inside. Not really of any help to someone that already know that you have to eat healthy and exercise. I really did not learn a single new thing longevity related that i did not know or heard (multiple times) already
