Helpful Information and Actionable Ideas

Lymphedema is not well known outside of medical circles and those who are afflicted by it. So, if you're searching for an audiobook or book about the topic, you probably have a vested interest in it. As a nurse, I found this book surprisingly well done. It begins with describing what lymphedema is, including its pathophysiology and different stages. Throughout the book, the author provides helpful insights and actionable suggestions you can do to help alleviate some of its problems, which are surprisingly manifold. These tips encompass what you can do to make your symptoms better as well as what to do when it gets out of control. As with any book about a medical condition, follow its dictates with caution and without expectation of miracles, perhaps checking with your healthcare provider to see if the suggestions are okay or to get better information and understanding about your unique manifestation of the condition. At various times before she died, my mother suffered from lymphedema, and I wish I had this book to share with her at that time to help her better understand what it was and what she could do about it.
