For Hanna Harvey, happily ever is just the beginning . . . of a hot mess. Now mated to darkly dangerous but irresistibly seductive werewolf, Mark Abernathy, she's finding that life isn't the endless cheese and whisky fueled boinkfest she'd imagined it to be. Plagued by terrifying nightmares of a mysterious entity bent on her destruction and drowning in her new responsibilities as the alpha female of the werewolf world, she's begun to doubt that she really is the heir.

When certain werewolf factions refuse to acknowledge Hanna's rule, what begins as a clan rivalry threatens to erupt into the first shifter war in centuries. Which is like, the worst. As is the return of Hanna's former flame and neophyte vampire, Detective James Morrison.

Hoping to stave off the shifter Apocalypse, Hanna and Abernathy travel to The Gathering, where a mysterious figure from Abernathy's past reveals a closely guarded secret with the power to break not only her heart, but their sworn bond as mates. With the fate of the werewolf world resting squarely on her bony shoulders, Hanna must now decide to trust the wildness within, or abandon the shifter world forever.

Contains mature themes.

Stella Hunter and Cynthia st Aubin are a perfect pairing for an amazing series of audible books! Cynthia is an amazing story teller, a poet, skilled at describing things in such beautiful ways, and so endlessly funny! And Stella Hunter is incredibly exceptionally good at performing all of the characters consistently and with their own voices , accents included, and how she makes me forget it’s her giving voices and feelings to all of the characters speaks to her skills! Plus her abilities to perform so well that the emotions are as part of the story telling as the words! I am in awe of both of them!

I love this series!!!!!

I listened to, laughed, cried and laughed some more to all four books in just a little over a twenty four hour period. Five out of five stars. Would definitely recommend.

I love this entire series ❤️

“Dear reader, …”
If using “boinkfest” in the summary didn’t clue you in, know that this is bubblegum urban fantasy, where the emphasis is on the comedy and Hannah “most likely to die trying to pet something dangerous” Harvey is the star. This book ups the goofball meter by breaking the fourth wall, dropping a few baby-sitting interludes complete with potty humor (“urp!”), and going with a “when animals attack” side-plot. I found it fun, but also scattered and unbalanced with the main plot of Hannah finding her place in the shifter world, which went deep into the universal, metaphysical, philosophical, magical woo woo.

While there was some recapping, this series really should be listened to in order. That would be helpful in building up a tolerance for a plot that relies on luck rather than smarts, detective work, or a team effort. Ditto for increasing the impact of a character death. And ditto again (thritto?) to appreciate the romance, love of art and history woven into the story, and of course, cheese.

Wraps the arc with babies and magical woo woo
