On the outside, Mary Jane Fonder seemed like a kindly 66-year-old congregant of the Lutheran church in Springfield Township, PA. But inside, she longed for the church's handsome Pastor Gregory Shreaves, a former golf pro who sparked her most sinful thoughts.

When Mary Jane let her feelings be known, the Pastor gently pushed her away. But her obsession only grew stronger when she became convinced that he was romantically involved with a younger church member, a woman named Rhonda Smith.

Rhonda was doing volunteer work in the church office one day when she was shot to death in cold blood. The trail of evidence led police to Mary Jane, and soon other suspicions were raised: Was she also involved in the mysterious death of her own father 15 years earlier?

This is the shocking true story of love, worship, and murder in one American small town.

It’s not a terrible book. I do wish there would have been more witnesses accounts of Mary Jane and Rhoda. I definitely believe Mary Jane killed Rhonda.

The lack of details about Mary Jane’s life and the crime.

Before listening to this book, I listened to another earlier book by the same author, different narrator--Fatal Jealousy narrated by Roger Wayne. It was good so I listened to this one. Pam Ward's narration came across as if being done by someone's snippy, gossipy old maid aunt. Not at all pleasant to listen to.

Narration spoiled it.

An interesting story, which is the ONLY reason I stayed with this book. The narration was like listening to Aunt Edna read to me. And the mispronunciation of several words, over AND over.

clique was pronounced CLEEK throughout the entire book
evangelical was pronounced 3 different ways
