Definitely emotional and forbidden... a great listen.

Wow. What and emotional and forbidden storyline. I enjoyed the banter between Mateo and Vera. Their chemistry was palpable and hot. The beginning will intrigue you and you’ll be hooked until the end. The narration is fantastic.

Great story overall

I liked the story. Loved the Male lead Mateo. The female lead was unlikable often, she was 23 but way more immature than a 23 year old. The way the story unfolded I guess redeemed what I didn’t like about her. Overall great book with culturally rich characters. Not all love stories are perfect, but all love stories are worth fighting for.

Very Emotional!

Loved the depth of the characters. Mateo and Vera's story was delicious. While I am not a fan of age gap romances with young women and older men, this one worked.

Good Story but

The MFC was immature. She only thinks in the moment, acts on impulse, and doesn’t think of the long play. The MMC did the hard moves and left his wife and unhappy marriage. She left him even tho she knew things would be hard. She then got mad because he didn’t call or text after she left? It was difficult to listen to her.

Interesting story

I liked the overall story though romances with cheating are not my favorite trope. The overall arc of the story is redemption which worked out overall. The main characters were interesting and even with the cheating arc were likable. The story showed the power of found family and connection across culture and language. The narrator did a fantastic job especially with narrating the male main character. It honestly felt like there were several narrators not just one.
