I never believed in fairy-tales. Never held out for Prince Charming.

Growing up poor in small-town California as the oldest of six siblings, I knew I would never ride off into the sunset with anyone. That was even more apparent when a senseless tragedy took the lives of my parents, forcing me to become the sole guardian of our dysfunctional household at the mere age of 23.

Then a fateful encounter literally brought Prince Charming to my doorstep. At first I thought Viktor was just your average businessman passing through, albeit obscenely handsome, six-foot-five, blue-eyed, and mysteriously rich. But soon I discovered the truth behind Viktor's façade. Beneath his quiet, enigmatic gaze and cocky charm, is a man who is running away from who he really is. A role he'd rather not fulfill.

He is Viktor of House Nordin, His Royal Highness, The Crown Prince of Sweden.

Yet uncovering Viktor's secret was only the first step. I didn't expect to fall in love with him. I didn't expect to have my whole life turned upside down. When you're from two different worlds, can your hearts meet somewhere in the middle? Or do happily-ever-afters only exist in fairy-tales?

Contains mature themes.

Maggie and Viktor's story is a modern day Cinderella story, but with enough twists and spins to keep it from being a tired overplay. The prince is charming but a bit out of his element when he meets Maggie and her cart-full of baggage.
Stephanie Wyles was an amazing first-time narrator for me and I really enjoyed the snark she brought to the story. Jeremy York was great with the hint 9f an accent and made the naive but sweet prince loveable.

It’s a cute twist on a Cinderella story. Nice prince meets small town American girl.
The story is well written and the spicy scenes are good. The only thing I can complain about is the descriptions of how Viktor looks, tall, tall, tall. It is repetitive. There is very little unique descriptions of the main characters. There is much more on the siblings of Maggie.
There is a theme of grief as several characters had recently lost family. The deaths are mentioned but not vividly described.

The readers did well, all the characters were easily distinguishable although Maggie sounded whiny/bratty in Viktors POV.

I could not get enough of this flawless story! there were a few errors on the readers part where they missed a word, but no harm! and I liked the depth they gave the characters.
such a wonderful love story! and it helps that I love everything about Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and the Netherlands. i cant wait to read more in this Nordic Royals series. wonderful book! found it initially on radish under "Royal Nanny" and had to seek it out to buy! and it did NEAT at ALL disappoint.

I wAS HOOKED!

I chose this book after reading others by the author. Compared to those (the Macgregor collection) I feel like it was a bit slow and the narrators were slightly juvenile. I also felt like it was unbalanced between the male and female perspective it almost could’ve been done completely from the female perspective. I was underwhelmed and I think I’ll take a break from this author for a bit. The plot was predictable no real surprises. And for such a long but I think she could’ve created more chemistry between the two characters.

A little long and slow narration

This was a cute read! Secret identity small town romance with a royal hero is always a good time. The narration was good and was just an easy and quick listen!
