As a clinician, I listened to this book to find a resource for partners of individuals who have experienced sexual trauma. It offers valuable insights and practical advice for partners, making it a helpful resource in that regard. While the content didn’t present new information for me as a clinician, I believe it could be very beneficial for those seeking to understand and provide support in these challenging circumstances.

From my lens as an autistic person, the book does everything opposite from what we need. It’s vague, infantilizing, the self love and the introspective questions don’t function the same way with us Neuro-Superior folk as it would with the neurotypical. I would always suggest “Come as You Are”, Dr. Nagoski herself is a fellow autist and she conveys a lot of this information way better. A lot of the time I was asking why and who would think this way. Maybe it could be for men who don’t actually think about women or women’s issues? I was told a lot of what I was thinking, but it was always the complete opposite. This didn’t fit my experience or the way my brain is wired, so any other autistic person having trouble with this just know you’re not alone.

Not for the Autistic
