Kai had survived the treacherous Mage trying to kill him in his own house. But new enemies loom over the horizon.

Having increased his personal strength and taking control over the City of Veralt, Kai had just began to learn the ropes of being a noble lord when trouble knocks on his door. Summoned by the Archine Tower that may or may not be the one trying to kill him, he moves to the capital with his trusted subordinates to dip his toe in the muddy waters of capital politics. To make matters worse, a beast wave threatens to crush over his city.

To fend everything and come out on top, Kai not only had to increase his budding strength and gather allies, he also had to realise that the history he knew might not be correct. Together with his Knight Killian and Administrator Francis, Kai of Sorcerer's Tower would stop at nothing to realise his potential and change the world.

I really enjoyed the story overall. However, there were quite a few places where the awkward English was bad enough to make me think that it was not the Author’s first language. A couple of instances where I just had no idea what they were trying to say.

But skipping over those leaves a fun to read apocalypse redo story. In the first book, we are led to believe that he went “too far” back in time. By the end of this one, it seems like he went to exactly where he needed to be in order to actually affect the outcome of the apocalypse.

I already tried to get the 3rd book, but it is unfortunately not yet available.

A good story, in need of an editor

If you liked the first one you'll enjoy the second. I enjoy the narration, the story is long enough to justify the credit, and continues to be more of the same with Arzan dealing with the problems inherent to feudal nobility with a bit of fantasy flair thrown in.

A great follow up.

I like the way the author tells the story, especially the epilog. The court intrigue is.. intriguing. It feels very light tho, like the depth of the politics doesn't go far, but maybe I'm just comparing game of thrones courtly shenanigans to this.. there is ground work laid out for more depth for sure in the next book. MC didn't really have the time to care about anyone else's court drama, so ill give it a realism pass. i am very interested in the family dynamics sure to be touched on in book 3. what we got here was brief but interesting. i do wish the perspective would change to other characters more like his brothers as they deal with their own issues. solid book. the narrator has little range in expressing emotions but i didn't mind too much.

GOOD story, okay performance.

The book starts off a little slow but the story really builds up well and keeps you interested.

Narrator is very good which really helps also.

Now to wait for book 3.

Title says it all. Looking forward to book 3. Keep the MC strong. I prefer that the MC be OP actually. Still see you next book.
