a acid induced day dream

Just as the title says this book was a massive comfussing acid trip of words and interesting imagination. Still not sure what happened at the end lol

I like this

I had no expectations coming into this. I did not hope for any particular outcome. But I know Barron can write a good story. And this is such a one.

Difficult to stay focused

I can't say if it was the story or the narrator, but I had to continuously rewind and replay because I just want listening to it. I've never had such a hard time finishing a two hour book!

Fast-paced, violent (slashed throats, exploding eyeballs, general bloodbath), and weird. I liked it, just didn't love it.

starts as a fairly standard Japanese crime story, changes into a weird supernatural odyssey.
