The witch has returned, and no one is safe.

Almost a year has passed since Anika and Gretel's horrifying night in an abandoned cannery in the Back Country and the subsequent beginning of their quest to the Old Country for answers to the mysteries of Orphism.

But rumors are reaching the far shore that the evil Witch of the North, presumed dead since that night of terror, is alive and strong.

And hunting again.

But this time, no one is safe. Everyone Gretel loves is in danger, and she must summon a new level of power and conviction to end her family's nightmare forever.

The story is addictive as much as the "potion" is. I can't wait till read the next book.

A bit longer than I preferred, with some redundancy. It “cost” me several hours of sleep.

A most engaging & frightening story.

This was just as good as the first. Kept me interested. Loved the narrator. Looking forward to the next one.

Awesome!

Glad they kept the same narrator as the first book, but i was let down by the storyline. The book is titled Marlenes Revenge but she doesnt get revenge. I felt like the entire book was a lead up to something happening, yet the book ended and i was still left waiting for the punchline. It was still enough to keep me interested in the series, so i will go on with the next book to see what happens next. The book ends in a bit of a cliffhanger, so i really need to know what happens, but after the first book, it seems this one was written in a hurry.

A bit disappointed...
