An emotional debut!

4.5 This book had a little bit of it all and I’m not mad about it! I wish I had a best friend like Harper has in Evie! There was every emotion including anger, sadness, joy, actual laugh out loud moments. This book had me swooning and sweating!

And Rachel Dane did an absolutely fantastic job as the sole narrator! She really nailed it with all the different dialogue and emotion. Really well done.

This was Dee Jordan’s debut book and I’ll definitely look forward to more from her and this series!

Such a fabulous romance novel

I absolutely refused to adult today until this book was finished

Harper is one of us (book girlie) and Dante, Dwayne, Dick - oh whatever his name is did her dirty but our gorgeous animal rescuing vet Xavier in his grey sweatpants saved our girl

The slow burn on these 2 was perfect and all the anxiety and doubts will give you all the feels

I highly recommend this fake dating, revenge, close proximity and very satisfying HEA with the added bonus of an adorable scene stealing dog

Banter and chemistry

I ate this audiobook up so fast, I could not put it down. I was invested in the story and and talent of the soul narrator.

This story is full of emotions, I felt everything but the banter stood out, really all of the laughs had me all around. There are also some of the best swoony moment's that intermingle with some serious heartbreak. And the spice was perfection its delicious, it was sprinkled in thoughtfully and with intention to show growth in the relationship.

Xavier and Harper have one of my favorite meet-cutes, absolutely memorable. I adored Harper, she was strong and soft all at once. I loved that she embraced her figure and owned it beautifully. She has an uter breakdown after "what's his name" but with the help of her bestie she see her worth and that it had been falling apart for awhile. Her chemistry with Xavier had her moving on fast but when you have chemistry like they don't not hard.

Xavier is amazing and flawed. He felt real and thankfully he broke out of his block to get his girl. I loved his caretaking of Harper even though some of it came from trauma.

I loves this book and i cant wait for book 2 in this series. I'm already invested.

Rachel Dane narrated this book alone but I never felt like it. Her range of voices and her ability to convey emotions was top-tier. Her male voiceis spectacular. I cant recommend this audiobook enough.
