Ezra, Pip and Fredo leave New Orleans and head off into wilds of Texas on their way back to Santa Fe.

They travel on to California. Ezra stays and buys a 36,000-acre rancho while Pip and Fredo return to Santa Fe to get their money left behind and bring Fredo's family to California, but once in Santa Fe, Pip decides they need to go on to Missouri and get the money in the Bank of Missouri. Eventually, they make their way back to Santa Fe and then California. Ezra marries and Pip returns to New Orleans to get the beautiful Odette. This is a story of three partners who live out their dreams in California while it was under Mexican rule.

Fun western

Story was good. Narrator was ok, Not the best storyteller. I liked the theme of friendship and loyalty and hard work.

Amazing research, characters and history

Loved everything about this story. The actor nailed the characters beautifully. Highly recommend R.O. Lane’s books. Looking forward to reading more.
