I wasn’t quite sure how the basic premise/ summary of the story was going to play out, but I quite enjoyed for the most part how it did.
You meet Andi Nelson, Chorus teacher and oldest child of a legendary football coach and Mike Kelly, A football coach. You also get to meet and get to know other supporting characters in the story as well.
I like that you get to know more of the characters backstories and what struggles they have related to that over the course of the story. Some people would wash over the backstories, but I think the author made it seem like these characters had real problems and concerns. Were there a few moments that were unbelievable or not quite realistic? Yes, especially for educators, but given the fact that this is a fictional work that mostly worked for me, I’ll give those moments a pass. Plus, it is kind of nice to see that both Andi and Mike needed time to work on themselves and their situations before being able to come together again. I do enjoy a happy ending.
I did enjoy the narrators voice for most of the characters.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and would read more books by the author and read more books narrated by the narrator.
