Mercy Thompson is a shapeshifter, and while she was raised by werewolves, she can never be one of them, especially after the pack ran her off for having a forbidden love affair. So she’s turned her talent for fixing cars into a business and now runs a one-woman mechanic shop in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State.

But Mercy’s two worlds are colliding. A half-starved teenage boy arrives at her shop looking for work, only to reveal that he’s a newly changed werewolf—on the run and desperately trying to control his animal instincts. Mercy asks her neighbor Adam Hauptman, the Alpha of the local werewolf pack, for assistance.

But Mercy’s act of kindness has unexpected consequences that leave her no choice but to seek help from those she once considered family—the werewolves who abandoned her...

I don’t recommend the dramatized version for first time readers. You miss small details that are largely unimportant but still add to the world. Also, with so many burly male characters, it can be hard to keep straight who is talking, as well as paying attention to what is being said. But I 100% recommend them for when you inevitably get the urge to reread the series in preparation for the next release, it saves on some time and keeps the older books from becoming dull after reading them so many times. So go read or listen to the whole book, then come back for this sweet treat!

Makes my heart happy, BUT…

Good I like most of the voices except Adams doesn’t sound as deep or exotic as it did in my head. I think Lorelei King does a better Adam voice but that is my only complaint. An alpha needs to sound like an Alpha. Everything else is great though.

Good, Adam could be better

Love the Mercy series and the audio series. Added this to my collection today and listened to it in one sitting. LOVE the characters even more now.

Another Great Adaptation!

Great adaption of a great book some of the voice don't quite fit my mental picture of them. That is a minor nitpick and I wonder if they are going to do adaptions of all the Mercy Thompson books though the second is up for pre-order

When a coyote shifter Volkswagon mechanic takes in a homeless new werewolf teen, her goal of keeping her head down and minding her own business in the local Tri-Cities supernatural community is blown to bits. This is not my first time reuniting with the first book in the Mercy Thompson urban fantasy world, but it was my first encounter with the Graphic Audio full cast edition which took a good story and made it even better.

Mercy had a unique upbringing and is a unique individual. She's young, but she has hidden depths that come out as the story progresses. She considers herself low in the supernatural power hierarchy, but it was fun seeing this underdog-erm under coyote find a way to get it done. Much of the story is introducing Patricia Briggs' urban fantasy world, but this does not bury the exciting story crescendoing to an action-packed climax.

Getting the sound effects, music, and full cast dramatization was sensational and I liked the voices chosen. I had to laugh at how Stefan was voice- very different from the one I had in my head for him.

All in all, a fun and exciting outing making me excited to listen in as Graphic Audio continues to release the rest of the series.
