Tilda

I have a new house. Well, new to me. Just like living in my own place on the top of a mountain, rather than in a city apartment, is new to me. But it’s mine now because my Great Uncle Jack passed away, and he left me his freaking house. In Colorado. On the border of Lonely Peak State Park.

But that’s not all he did.

He also left a series of letters. A scavenger hunt of clues that leads me back to Vegas. To his lawyer’s office. To the reading of his will. Where I learn I must marry in order to keep my sudden inheritance out of the greedy hands of my family. And since they’re the worst, I only have one option.

Ask the grumpy park ranger I just met to be my husband.

Ethan

Jack never lied. Not outright. But he did omit some things. Like the fact that his grandkid Matty is actually a fully grown woman named Matilda. And the fact that she looks like a walking, talking mountain fairy with her long purple hair and a wardrobe of lust-inducing dresses.

He also failed to mention that he was setting us up. That he was setting all of this up. And now, when the woman I unwittingly agreed to watch out for stands before me, asking me to marry her, there’s only one answer I can give…

I absolutely adore this series. I’ve been hooked on SJ Tilly since Nero. I’ve definitely added Mountain Grump to my favorites book rotation.

Love this series

This is probably my favorite Tilly book! I love all the Easter eggs, the back and forth banter between the characters, and how she kinda switched it up. I love it! A MUST LISTEN!

In love!

The one and only thing I didn’t care for was the female narrator. The way she drags out the last word in the sentence drives me insane. It makes her sound like a news broadcaster or something. I’m not sure if it’s something that she regularly does or if it’s for this character but I didn’t care for it.
Other than that, I loved the story. Loved the characters!

Great story that makes you feel all the feels.

I thought Luther was my favorite mountain man fantasy but then Ethan came in and stole the show like a "good boy" 😘. I enjoyed the story...love at first sight, he falls first, male with an overprotective nature. Animal and wilderness aspects were more prevalent in this story, but they felt realistic and meaningful to the story. I also loved that Fischer had somewhat of an update in this story. I personally think he could have been the focus of a book 4 in this series. An official S.J. Tilly fan. Kudos to Conner Crais and Erin Mallon for narrating this series. They both did a wonderful job bring each couple to life. I listened to all three and each narration is unique.

I stan SJ and specifically the Mountain Men Series. Mountain Grump was a really good conclusion to the series I loved. This book follows park ranger Ethan "Grump" Grant and Tilda as they meet and connect with helps from her Uncle Jack from "the great beyond". Another guy who falls hard for the curvy leading lady and does anything she asks, including marry her 2 weeks in to knowing each other, as a condition of her 2 million dollar inheritance. Like any good story there are a few bumps in the road and you'll have to see how it all resolves.
As a side note, I finished this book using the audio done duet style by Erin Mallon and Connor Crais... so well done.
While Luther is always gonna be my favorite Mountain Man, Ethan grew on me. It was nice to kinda crack his grumpy exterior and see how he ticks. As always with SJ books, it is well worth the read!

good series finale
