Note: The audiobook version only includes the story, Mr. Tilling’s Basement.

An intriguing woman knocked on the door to your craptastic new house and offered to sell you some knowledge about it for a small fee, and then she showed you a secret room in your basement where the former owner smoked hallucinogens and performed occult rituals. Would you be curious to explore it with her? If you’re a morose and horny retired professor like Herman Tilling, you sure as hell would! But it might not end up the way you expect....

The title story is about a man who goes to hell ala the "Infernal" series.

If you have this book on Kindle, there ARE "other stories" but the audio book has only the title story, even though the cover plainly states "and other stories".

Recommended but don't expect "other stories" if you get the audio book edition.

Good Title Story, but nothing else.

It's always fun when Edward Lee decides to tell a story including the Mephistopolis. It's a familiar tale but Edward Lee manages to tell it from a more brutal and uninhibited angle which keeps the adventure fresh even as the same familiar climax comes around. But in its brutality, it spends an inordinate amount of time on the torture of one individual in particular which, while it may be cathartic, bogs down the story unnecessarily.

Also, buyers should note that the title mentions "other stories" but these are not included in the audio version.
