Summoned to a historic Tudor manor, Jason and Daniel are charged with investigating the heart-wrenching murder of two small boys. To discover who would have a motive to commit such a heinous crime, they must delve into the unexpectedly complicated relationships between the manor’s inhabitants.

Untangling a web of secrets leads them closer to the truth and directly into the sights of a killer, who will stop at nothing to escape justice. Will Redmond and Haze solve the case before one of them pays the ultimate price?

The narrator has a Very annoying habit of pronouncing words that in end in a with an r sound when speaking with an American accent. For example pronouncing idea as idear or the name Lucinda as Lucinder. It’s so annoying. No body does that and if she can’t do an American accent without doing that she shouldn’t do it.

I’m being super picky

This was really good, just as good as the others. looking forward to the next one. The narrator did a good job.

Loved it!

Enjoy the series but the narrator cannot do a decent American accent. It’s grinding to listen to Jason Redmond who sounds like he’s clenched every muscle in his head before speaking.

Good sequel but narration struggles.

Irina Shapiro is one of my favorite authors. This series is great and I never know who is the culprit until the twisted ending.

Dark and twisted

I enjoy the series and the entertained characters. There’s always a twist. And there’s interesting historical references.
Starting to wonder about who is the true investigator though. Seems like Daniel relies a lot on Jason. The biggest issue starting with book 11 is the narrator. Jason’s voice is now inconsistent and at times stilted and sounds like the gypsies from a much earlier book.

I’m still listening and enjoy the characters
