These are the questions Sheriff Cammie Farnsworth must face when she is suddenly confronted with a past she thought she’d long ago left behind. As the first female elected sheriff of Clarke County, Maine, Cammie has finally found peace in her life. However, that peace is shattered when hockey legend Eli Kelley suddenly returns to Twin Ponds. He and Cammie were once involved, and when he left to pursue a sports career, he left with a secret that almost destroyed her. When he is found murdered and Cammie is forced to make an arrest, the finger of guilt from the townspeople turn to her. As pressure mounts, Cammie must prove not only that she is innocent, but that the one person she doesn’t want to believe is guilty may very well be a killer.

Pretty good.

I typically can’t get into books with virtual voice but this one actually had me HOOKED. As someone who reads a lot of mystery I can sometimes predict the outcome, this book had me on my toes constantly and just when I think I was right on the ending, I was proven so wrong. Overall a really good read!

The story was good

I really enjoyed the story it kept me hooked and trying to figure out who done it I would recommend reading it

Outstanding story with surprising suspects with so many reasons to murder.
I loved it and can’t wait to get the next in the series.
Great scene descriptions, I could just picture the surroundings with the actions taking place.
