An action-packed space opera novel from the author of the Pattern universe.

AWA Agent Philus Grady is sent on a clandestine investigation of a terraformed planet suspected of being behind growing hostilities between the CORE Navy and the Allied Worlds. Once there, Grady's unique training quickly uncovers the planet's amazing secret of a repressed truth that will alter history, a truth that almost gets him killed. In a race against time and enemy ships, Grady has to expose the CORE's secret, but will the news spark the war they all fear is coming.

It's a good story with a plots inside plots growing with each chapter. I enjoyed the characters, the believable science, and personal conflicts.

This is the first audio book that I've listened to which incorporated ambient sounds in the background, and I gotta say I'm a huge fan of this integration. It helps set the scene perfectly when characters are aboard ships, in the forests, at the coastline, etc.

The voice acting is also spot on. Everyone has their own unique voice and their personality traits are reflected within. One element that stood out to me is the effects applied when characters are communicating via electronic devices. It's hard to describe, as you can tell who a character is by their voice, but it sounds as though it is coming through an ear piece, which only adds to the experience in a positive way.

And as for the story, it is very enjoyable and keeps you engaged. There are a lot of factions in play, so you might find yourself like me and having to rewind sometimes to get reacquainted with what is going on, or replaying the introduction to remain familiar with the factions' history.

For readers such as myself, having an introduction which provides background material on the various groups in play and their histories is quite handy for a story incorporating this many parties. I am looking forward to more works by this author.

A very enjoyable story

The story wasn't for me. I really tried to enjoy it but I just couldn't get into it. The narration and sound effects are really amazing and I wish more stories included it but I just didn't enjoy the book as a whole.

I was given this Audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.

Great narration and sound effects but that's it

Would you listen to Mutant Hunter (Clone Worlds) again? Why?

Yes, there was a lot in the book that one listen is not enough.

What does Edward James Beesley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He was able to bring the characters to life in a way that just reading might not.

Any additional comments?

The book left you in suspense the whole time. Really well written.
