Paul Bradford & Demi Lee

This is a short but interesting story. Jason Clarke’s narration was very enjoyable to listen to. His voice performance is always on point and relaxing (since I listen to audiobooks at night and prefer his narration style).

Wonderful storytelling and Jason Clarke’s appealing aww shucks narration performance!

Paul and Demi Lee’s best friend’s younger sister romance unites a real estate broker who is coerced into checking in on a younger, emotionally shattered clothing merchandiser suffering from a devastating breakup. Paul doesn’t do entanglements but his kind heart and empathy quickly drew me in. Demi Lee’s emotional vulnerability had me hooked from the start and I loved watching Paul continue to fight his forbidden attraction knowing in the end he’ll tumble right at her feet. It’s the classic battle between his friendship and his constant thoughts of her red bikini and Paul’s dilemma is compellingly complicated. There’s a real talent in writing a shorter length book where every sentence, glance, touch, and emotion is emphasized with an importance that sucks you into the characters’ lives. The cherry on the sundae is the awww shucks ma’am, swoon worthy narration performance of Jason Clarke who absolutely shines with his old fashioned manners and his appealing Texas twang.
