Hold on to your hats: The authors who brought you the New York Times bestseller My Plain Jane, which Booklist praised as “delightfully deadpan” (starred review) and Publishers Weekly called “a clever, romantic farce” (starred review), are back with another irreverent historical adventure—perfect for YA fantasy and romance readers.

Welcome to 1876 America, a place bursting with gunslingers, outlaws, and garou—better known as werewolves.

And where there are garou, there’re hunters: the one and only Calamity Jane, to be precise, along with her fellow stars of Wild Bill’s Traveling Show, Annie Oakley and Frank “the Pistol Prince” Butler.

After a garou hunt goes south and Jane finds a suspicious-like bite on her arm, she turns tail for Deadwood, where there’s talk of a garou cure. But rumors can be deceiving—meaning the gang better hightail it after her before they’re a day late and a Jane short.

In this next read for fans of A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, bestselling authors Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows, and Brodi Ashton bring their signature spark to the side-splittin’, whopper-filled (but actually kind of factual?) tale of Calamity Jane.

I just didn’t enjoy the main characters the way I did in the rest of the series. Definitely not the best but it had it’s moments.

Just not as good

I should have saved this for October since there are paranormal beings involved. So funny!

These narrators are the best!

I love the books these authors have put out.

Both have been fantastic listens. The narrator is fantastic, the story is engaging and fun. They’ve stayed far enough from history that history buffs can’t be offended by inaccuracies because everything is essentially inaccurate, yet not too far away from history in the characters perceived personalities.

It’s a book that I will listen to again a year from now, which is rare. I can’t wait for the next to come from these minds.

Great, Fun, Silly Adventure

I love these books! They’re always a hoot! With so many pop culture references and little inside jokes they’re just a blast!!

Hilarious

Firstly, I really struggled with the narrator/performers voice and the difference between the voices. Some were ok but others just didn’t have a distinctive difference like over heard in other audibles.
The story was somewhat predictable, but enjoyable. I struggled with the “narrators here” parts but some were funny. I’d suggest this book for a teen.

Good story line
