From New York Times bestselling authors Rachel Cohn and Melissa de la Cruz comes a freewheeling journey through Vienna where two estranged friends search for their mutual ex—and a long-lost bond.

Audrey and Ian were best friends—until they fell in love with the same man. To be precise, they fell in love with, married, and divorced the same man. And there’s no coming back from that.

Twenty-odd years later, they’re right back at the beginning: Vienna, where their university study abroad turned into a love triangle from which they never quite recovered. But it’s Christmas, and Audrey’s daughter is getting married. Time to let bygones be bygones.

Not for the sake of the holiday or even because they’ve matured with age…but because their mutual ex is nowhere to be found. It’s up to Audrey and Ian to track him down.

As wedding plans go further awry, the former besties race to find the father of the bride. Juggling complicated family dynamics (and the cocktails required to cope), they learn that, sometimes, it’s not about the search but the friendships rediscovered along the way.

Critic reviews

“Like a vacation with your manically funny, always tipsy train-wreck friend, My Ex-Husband’s Ex-Husband capers through Vienna on a high of pastries, cocktails, banter, and long-held grudges. Two of my favorite authors.”—E. Lockhart, New York Times bestselling author of We Were Liars

I liked that this story was from a wildly different perspective, but the characters were fun and the plot was cute

A story of friendship, forgiveness and reconciliation. Audrey and Ian are estranged former best friends, who were inseparable until they both fell for—and eventually married and divorced—the same man, Beau.

Decades later, Audrey and Ian reconnected as Audrey and Beau’s daughter is about to get married. Funny how can two people pit against each other. The book highlights how easy it is to blame the "other person" instead of the person actually causing the drama.

I loved the concept and the story itself was funny but the rapid fire, speech with over the top trying way to hard to be funny made the characters seem so swallow and a little annoying. Characters like this do better from the outside looking in like Jack from Will & Grace. Having them narrate and straight say things like yes queen I'm a shallow B***ch, just doesn't hit the same. (maybe in book format it would be easier just in audio the speech is so fast and loud.
once I got use to that aspect the story itself was really good, interesting and pretty unique!

Funny Premise, A little to Forceful Delivery

This was an entertaining listen with some definite laugh out loud moments for me. I enjoyed the Austrian setting for a Christmas wedding. The family drama that ensues is definitely one for the books!
