Ally Hastings is my obsession, the one girl I never should have fallen in love with.
She ran away from me for a year, filled with shame, insisting our feelings for each other are wrong and we can’t give into temptation. No more sneaking around. No more stolen kisses.
Now Ally is back in town, ignoring our past, trying to date other guys and move on from me. I thought I could hate her for the way she ripped my heart out but I’m more obsessed with her than ever. I don’t care how wrong we are for each other, Ally Hastings is mine, I’ll make her see it, and I won’t let anyone take her from me.
My Favorite Sin is a “his dad married her mom” new adult romance. It is book 2 in the Playing Favorites series and can be listened to as a standalone novel. For a more immersive experience it is recommended to first listen to the novella My Favorite Girl.

Narrated in duet

This book is basically sinning in the best possible ways, and Dan & Ally? We love them. We support them. We enable them.
The tension is deliciously wrong, the chemistry is feral, and every scene feels like a terrible decision you make anyway because it feels too good not to. Forbidden, tempting, and absolutely unapologetic. 😈🥵
Come for the sin. Stay for Dan & Ally owning your soul.

I did feel like the male narrator, Anthony Palmini, was a bit stiff (lol) with his performance. Felt more like he was reading from a script sometimes rather than actually portraying a character. A couple of the spicy scenes felt slightly cringey, but that may be more the words he was working with.
As far as the story goes, I love how supportive Dan is of Ally. He loves her and lifts her up, and pushes her to be her best, most happy self. It’s so sweet and I love that for her. She’s such an anxious little mouse who needs someone to really see her; to believe in her. They’re perfect for each other.

Written by Skyla Summers, this is book two in the Playing Favorites series, and it builds seamlessly on the emotional groundwork laid in My Favorite Girl. The story already had its hooks in me before it began, so I went in expecting angst, longing, and heartbreak—and it absolutely delivered. The emotional stakes feel heavier here, the desire sharper, and the fallout more inevitable, which made every interaction feel charged and meaningful.
What truly elevates this experience, though, is the duet narration by Heather Firth and Anthony Palmini. Palmini’s performance is pure tension—his whispers alone could unravel anyone—while Firth perfectly captures that fragile balance between sweetness, anxiety, and loyalty. Her portrayal of a young woman caught between family and forbidden desire felt painfully real. Together, their chemistry is undeniable, and they embody the longing, frustration, passion, and emotional aftermath with stunning precision.
Exquisite Forbidden Tension

Ally is back from her year abroad, Dan is still obsessed with her, and Ally’s attempts at dating someone else are futile as the chemistry and magnetic attraction between her and her step-brother is as explosive as ever. The character development was a highlight of this book for me. I loved seeing Ally grow out of the pressure to be the perfect good girl and live life for her own happiness.
Performed in duet by Heather Firth and Anthony Palmini, this audiobook brought the heat! Don’t you just love a duet narration!!? The emotions from these two talented voice actors brought this story to life, breaking my heart, and putting it back together in the best way!
FYI, I don’t think you need to listen to My Favorite Girl in order to follow and enjoy My Favorite Sin. Honestly, much of the plot is reintroduced again in this book, making it easy for first time listeners to follow, but it does make for a great appetizer!
I received a complimentary copy from Blue Nose Audio and am sharing my honest review.

She’s not the sweet innocent little girl her parents think she is. And he isn’t just a player like everyone perceives him as. Together they make an amazing couple.
Skyla’s writing sucks you in from the very beginning and you devour the entire book. Read the novella, My Favorite Girl first.
