In USA Today bestselling author Julie Anne Long’s latest installment in the Palace of Rogues series, a notorious rake meets his match in a lovely girl from the country, changing the course of both of their futures…

A London season is the chance of a lifetime for Catherine Keating. But the ton’s glitter and decadence and casual cruelty threaten to crush her hopes of finding a husband before her season even begins...until she accidentally acquires one of the most scandalous men in England as a secret chaperone.

Famously fiery Lord Dominic Kirke can hold the House of Commons—and any woman he chooses— in thrall. But when his house goes up in flames in the dead of night, he finds himself at the Grand Palace on the Thames. And there he discovers his cynical armor is no match for another guest: an innocent country girl with a crackling wit and eyes like a summer sky.

He's maddening, elusive, hopelessly charismatic, wrong in every way—perfectly designed to break her heart. But she doesn't know she holds his battered heart in her hands. And though it will destroy him, Dominic knows loving her means setting Catherine free for the life—and man—she deserves.

These are the best by far stories, so easily submerged into their world and lives. Between the author and the narrator you can see how easily that happens. Bravo!!!!

Love love love

what a wonderful story. Well written, great character development, witty banter. I can't say enough good things.
All I have listened to for the past 2 years are regency romance...roughly 1 out of every 3 days. Julie Ann Long is up there with Dare, Vincy, Lindsey, Heath, and the other greats I am forgetting

They just keep getting better....

It was simply wonderful to reconnect with the old gang at the Grand Palace on the Thames. Two new faces star in this book amidst the titular season of scandal. As always, Ms. Long’s writing is both clever and heartfelt —and gets you right in the feels. Every sentence demonstrates a gentle, world-wise maturity that is sorely lacking in most other popular HR novels these days. Narrator Justine Eyre is excellent, as always.

Another winning installment of a fabulous series

The story was wonderful!
Unfortunately, the narrator was a bit annoying, always seemed out of breath.

This is the 7th book in the Palace of the Rogues and it doesn't miss a beat. We are first introduced to our FMC, Catherine Keating, who is in London just for the season...without a chaperone. Dominic Kirke, our MMC, is a fiery politician who is always trying to fight for the downtrodden. This story has an age gap, former lovers, and some political commentary. Both of our MCs have more to than them than meets the eye and I was moved to tears during the romantic gesture at the end of the book. I love JAL! I am eagerly anticipating the next entry into the series!

JAL + Justine Eyre is a match made in Heaven
