Book TWO of the New Parent Series

Apollo likes things a certain way. He likes things quiet, predictable, and stable, and most of all, within his control. But ever since Sabrina moved in, nothing feels the same. She’s polite, seemingly sweet, and somehow always in his space.

He tells himself it’s just the disruption of her presence that bothers him. But there’s something else about her that’s irking his peace, and it’s starting to unsettle him in ways that infuriate him.

The more he tries to keep his distance, the more curious he becomes... and the harder it is to tell what’s really being threatened: his peace or his self-control.

I love the virtual narrator. The story is interesting but it keeps dragging for me. Im on book 2.

Great Virtual narrator

This is only the second series I’ve read by this author. Just like the Dante series it’s a real addictive piece of writing. But also beyond slow burn. Excellent character development very sexy writing but the wait to get to the climax my gosh painful.

Painfully good

This series is totaled as a slow burn? Nope, this is more like a simmer. We get little tiny glimpses of things to come, but yet it’s also realistic. It shows the deterioration of the mind, the will, the conscience. How we start to explain away things that normally would not make sense. How we make things make sense in our heads to make it suit what it is that we want.
I’m starting to see that in Apollo all of a sudden. I like him a little more in this book, but still, he’s not my favorite character. I truly can’t decide between Katie and Sabrina. Those two ladies have such big hearts, and so much love to give, that I can easily relate to both. I feel that they both have good intentions, they set out with the right frame of mind, and we’re both determined to get that love that they were missing. Their relationship could’ve been amazing.
We are just starting to see longer looks between Apollo and Sabrina, thoughts that shouldn’t be there, touches that seems so innocent, as well as emotions that don’t belong. I’m nervous to see what’s going to happen next, how is this going to play out? These are all good people, well the women are in my book, so who gets hurt in the end?
All in all another fabulous addition to the series, I cannot wait to find out what happens next. I listened as well and the narrator was just a virtual voice, so that suited me well while I was working. I’m going to start that book right away!!

Is it getting hot in here or is it me? A simmering 4.5 stars
