Glimpse into the twisted life behind one of America’s most horrifying serial killers.
Delving into the sick mind of the infamous killer Richard Ramirez, this thought-provoking true crime book sheds light on the childhood, upbringing, killings, and eventual capture of the man who stalked the southern Californian suburbs for over two years. Dubbed as the Night Stalker and baffling the police at every turn, Richard Ramirez left a trail of mutilation and death in his wake, cementing him as one of the worst serial killers America has ever seen.
Exploring the troubled yet unassuming upbringing of Ramirez and his hard-working immigrant family, this real crime story peels back the curtain on his life, examining what turned him into the monster he became. Detailing his early years and time at school, how he interacted with his family and close friends, and how he embarked on a dark path of Satanism and murder, this gritty book seeks to shed light on his twisted and evil mind, providing a new and gruesome look at his killing spree and the mindset that made him do it.
Perfect for fans of true crime stories, Richard Ramirez’s reign of terror left a dark shadow on California’s past, showing people the terrifying truth that anyone could become the next victim of a serial killer.

Good Overview of the Ramirez Case

With a lineal narration starting from his parents' backstory, the listener gets to witness the changes in Richards personality, from being a sweet boy to a troubled teenager to the violent satan-worshiping young man famous for the brutal treatment of his victims.
Narrated by Mr. Aaron Smith, this volume as an audiobook serves to double the scare factor. With the speaker's deep british accent and cryptic tone, listening to Night Stalker is reminiscent of listening to horror stories around a campfire.
The narration pace is perfect in regards to speed, and the speaker knows when to pause or speak up to accentuate the suspense of certain scenes. The reader's style certainly helped bring the story to life.
With a four hour duration, Night Stalker is a relatively short audiobook perfect for car rides, exercise, or simply chilling at home. The story flows perfectly and never drags on for too long as it mostly focuses on Richards most influential experiences as well as detailed descriptions of his gruesome methods for choosing and annihilating his victims.
This audiobook undoubtedly deserves five stars for its ingenious retelling of Richards story, capable of leaving anyone chilled to the bone, and fitting narrator who was able sweep me away into Richards world. It is a MUST LISTEN for every crime and mystery fan or, because of it’s fast-paced nature, perfect for anyone looking to assimilate into the genre. My most sincere kudos to the author and speaker!
