Great book!

If you love stories of capitalism and industrialism this is a great book. It mixes the love of engineering, capitalism, and sci-fi. I am currently only a quarter of the way through, but I can't wait to listen to more. Need to get some engineering of my own done first.

Entertaining read

I have listened to this story a few times now and have really enjoyed it. this isn't nearly as developed as her Pern series, but it needn't be as it is a one off book vs. an entire series. Listening with entertainment in mind instead of critical analysis makes it a very enjoyable read. I couldn't help but root for mom and daughter to be reunited.

Very much like a Heinlein 1950’s juvenile story.

The story is nothing new for McCaffery. Sort of a juvenile version of the her Dinosaur Plant story arc. Keep this in mind while you listen.

It was a fun story

Had a slow start but gradually picked up. It was nice yo hear a novel that I haven’t read since it was first published in 1999. I had forgotten a lot and I’m sure o got more out of the story by listening to it.

The positivity through rough times. I like it when people work together to solve problems and accept "people" for who they are whatever their abilities.
