Nine Pines Inn is a safe place. At least it was until a young girl disappeared during her stay.

On a mission to learn about her enigmatic past, Lennon understands one thing: the truth lies at Nine Pines. But as the whispers and rumors surrounding the inn’s history pique her curiosity, the allure of the mystery still haunting the place draws her in.

In a small town where gossip is traded as currency, Lennon’s instincts about whom to trust will be put to the ultimate test as she seeks the truth about where she came from and just what secrets the old inn is hiding.

Miles away, Ingrid’s husband is lying. At least his cryptic behavior would suggest he is.

Determined to get to the bottom of his suspicious activity, Ingrid partners with a stranger to test him. But when the woman who meets her husband for the setup suddenly vanishes, Ingrid finds herself buried beneath more questions than she started with.

Is there an innocent explanation for the woman’s disappearance? Or is the answer something much more sinister?

To the rest of the world, the missing girls have been forgotten. As both women dig deeper for clues, nothing could prepare them for the dark and disturbing truths just waiting to be unearthed…

Settle in for a heart-pounding, listen-in-one-sitting domestic suspense packed with menacing secrets, catastrophic revelations, and a terrifying search for answers alongside two women who will leave no stone unturned.

I already know that this is one of my favorite writers, but holy moly!! I can't even... there's not even the words to describe how much I loved this book and hung on every word... WHAT A RIDE!!

Shazam! what the what!?

Starts out intriguing but then goes off the rails towards the end with the "reveal". Had to rewind to figure out what was going on but by then the story had become nonsense. The husband's shenanigans are predictable and its crazy that you wouldn't know your husband's license plate number.

I really do admire writers but sometimes they try too hard with the twists and it comes off as too complicated. You know you're in trouble when they have a character explain the plot - which happens in this book.

What a great book. There were two seemingly unrelated storylines going on and the intensity and suspense kept building. Pacing was great, no lag time in either story and character development was excellent as always in a book by KM. As things start to click together the anticipation is palpable. The ending didn’t feel rushed at all. Awesome twists with very unexpected revelations. I always love listening to/reading a KM new release and definitely recommend this one.

Narration by all was so good. It just seemed like the true voice and personality of the characters were conveyed genuinely and seamlessly!!

So Good!

Love every Kiersten Modglin book I’ve read and this one didn’t disappoint. Her stories feel so real like these things could actually happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if some readers actually experienced things she wrote about.

Not just one twist…

I had a hard time following this because there were two separate storylines going on that quickly came together at the end, but left me confused .

Also, the narration was very monotone and many of the voices seemed the same.

I had to start this book over three times just to try to get the people and story straight.

I love this author and I’ve listened to every book on here. Something was off for me on this one and I could never engage. May be better if you read it.

Confusing and Hard to follow and narration was slow and monotone
