I’ve never wanted a guy before.
Yet I can’t keep my mind off Dawson.
The guy is bad news and headed for the bottom of a bottle as fast as he can.
Too bad that’s a problem I can relate to.
The only woman I ever loved led me down a dark path of addiction.
I’ve been in recovery for years now. I won’t be someone’s fix.
Or their cure. I can’t be responsible for his sobriety.
If Dawson can get his act together, I could be with him.
But I’m afraid that a new chance at love will destroy me all over again.

I like to drink, but it doesn’t mean I have a problem.
Nix was supposed to be a one-night thing.
He doesn’t understand my life or my problems.
I’m in control. Always.
My construction work has me hanging around the clubhouse, so I get to see a lot of Nix.
And damn it, I want to see more.
But my demons might be stronger than I thought.
Will Nix still want me after I’ve hit bottom?

Two broken souls find their path to healing and love in Nix, a first-time gay MC romance in the Hell’s Ankhor world.

The richness of the characters and the intricacies of the plot lines in the Hell's Ankhor series never cease to amaze me. Everything is written with so much heart and the authors have given all these people souls. I get totally sucked into these stories and become very invested in the characters, all of whom I care about and actually like as people. There's nothing shallow or artificial. It's all rich with meaning, and a genuine understanding of life's quirks, triggers, situations, and traumas. David Allen Vargo continues to bring it home with his meticulous and heartfelt narration. As sorry as I am going to be to see this series come to an end, I can't wait for the next and final release - PRIEST. I have a feeling it's going to be a fitting finale in every way to this spectacular series.

This book was a good addition to the series. Nix and Dawson fit really well together. The story showcased Dawson’s struggles with alcoholism. But, it also showed his strength in asking for help and following through with treatment. I was probably at a 3.5 for narration. The main characters were ok, but I wasn’t a fan of all the other voices. Overall I would still highly recommend this book.

Well done!

Even though it is a good story, there is just a little bit to much angst, because of all the anxiety throughout the story.

This was Nix and Dawson story. We were introduced to Nix in the last book. He's Brennans best friend and coworker. They started dancing around each other while Dawson works on the construction site. Dawson is the child of an alcoholic and had never felt like he mattered or cared for. This upbringing affects his adult life in the form of his heavy drinking.
Nix is a recovering user and sees the signs. He's literally taken by Dawson that he bails him out of a jam. When that problem occurs again, he suffers the consequences of Dawson actions.
These two together shouldn't work but they do. It was heartwarming to watch them repair the broken parts to be together.

So I never really thought about how addiction and recovery can change dynamics between lovers. I know, dumb right? If it's not something you have dealt with then you can't presume to understand. This book brought it all out and made it understandable. These two guys just made me love this series so much more!! This book and this series is a must read!

Love...
