Dashing. Jacked. Bad tempered. My new boss, everybody.
Now what's the cure for smitten?

Pinch me. I can't believe I'm working under him.
Dr. Gray Caldwell. Hottest, swooniest, stormiest bachelor ever.
Insanely tall. Unfair perfection. Intimidating abs and X-ray glares.
Doc puts the animal back in veterinarian.

My dream job should be all puppies and kittens.
Turns out, my new boss hates three things:
1. Small town drama. Baby, we've got tons.
2. Pets in distress - and he's their hero every time.
3. Anybody poking around his past. Like me. Oh, crud.

But how could I resist the best mystery in Heart's Edge?
I wish I had. Unraveling Gray is a dangerous game.
One wrong move could end our little town.
Plus this gorgeous, complicated grump plays for keeps.

I barely recognize the man he becomes vowing to protect me.
A beastly shield who sets every rule on fire.
Then one stolen, five alarm kiss sends my whole world spinning.
Hello, trouble. Farewell, sanity.
What if it's not the good doctor who claims me - but the bad one?

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Nicole Snow - two hearts on the line and a whole town's fate. A badass vet slays his demons, saves pets, and makes the firefly he swore he'd never chase his. Full-length romance novel with a happily ever after worth the purrs and wagging tails.

Let me say first that I have been enjoying all of Nicole Snows books, even this one. I did not like it as much as the first in the series though. I agree with an earlier review that there was too much head thinking angst, the characters didn’t even really get together until ch 18, a good six hours of no touch “I’m a bad man” angst. When all is revealed I was really unclear why he thought any of the fundamental conflict was his fault, it was a stretch for him to take on a personal burden of guilt.

Also, why does nobody else in town remember anything from only 8 years ago? Extra characters are treated as props that have no memories. Very odd.

No vet tech goes to work in a tennis skirt. Can you imagine dog diarrhea running down that cute skirt, your bare leg and into those darling shoes? What is the author thinking? Vet techs wear scrubs. Vet techs cannot independently see patients, that is illegal. They cannot dispense medications, diagnose or treat animals without a vet supervising the care.

If I take an animal to the vet, I’m talking to the vet, that vet tech should keep his/her mouth shut because he/ she is not anywhere near the training of someone with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Vet tech in my state is either a 16 week certificate and test or on the job training. You don’t even need to graduate high school. They can be very knowledgeable, but the still cannot see patients on their own. The author needs to do more research on her characters.

What is it with The authors love of the “older man” and 20 something virgins? Many of her books repeat this theme, it’s kind of repetitive.

I wish there had been more action in the first half of the book, it got kind of boring with just that angsty internal monologue and pretty much nothing else going on. It got more exciting in the end though.

The readers were excellent

I don’t think the author has any idea what a vet tech actually does....
