The book is good, however, Flo isn't right for this reading. She is great on other's, but not this one.

Great Classic Story, Narrator and Audio Lacking

What did you love best about North and South?

The story. It iz the same classic I have read before. It is hard to find an unabridged version.

How could the performance have been better?

The audio sounds like a bad long distance phone call. The narrator is just not my style. Too much like a even toned college lecture. No range of emotion. Would have prefered a narrator closer to the age of the character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, stages over a week.

Very poor audio quality

I love the book and I love the BBC series but this audiobook is NOT worth its price ! Very, very poor sound quality. And Flo Gibson's narration is not worth mentioning. Very disappointing !

North and South

Great story. I would recommend reading it rather than listening to it, but either way I loved the story and I plan on reading it many times. The BBC also made an excellent miniseries based on this book.

Not the Best Audio Verison

Although a fantastic book, the reader for this particular audiobook (Flo Gibson) is NOT recommended. She sounds rather elderly and thus gives every character in the book an older sounding, crackly voice. I got used to the voice by the last part but found it very hard to get through for the first 2/3 of the book.
