Charlotte Southwick always has a plan. Boarding her honeymoon cruise alone and decidedly unmarried wasn’t her intention. Neither was running into her high school love on board. Lexi looks so confident, and so hot, and so irresistible.... How could she have let this woman get away?
Lexi Bronson hasn’t had a permanent address in almost a decade and couldn’t be happier. Life is good bartending for a luxury cruise line - open seas, warm beaches, beautiful women, and no unnecessary anchors - until the woman who broke her heart shows up on her ship, and all those dreams of forever come rushing back.
When passion flares, will the storm that rages shipwreck them both?

The blurb does a more-than-decent job at explaining the set-up, but what I truly loved about this book was there was nothing in the way of "if they just talked to each other." They did. Almost immediately, in fact, and when they found their spark was by no means gone, they faced it like adults. Adults in a position where they're not technically allowed to do anything about it (staff aren't allowed to fraternize with guests) and where their lives are only going to intersect for the duration of a cruise and vacation. That created the core of the 'will-they-or-won't-they?' and it was completely believable and more than enough for them to have to fight to be together. I love when the plot is more "us against the problem" rather than people butting heads.
Also, as I always know to expect (and love!) from a Fiona Riley book, Lexi's friend group was this brilliant mix of wonderful, supportive people with fully fleshed out characters of their own, offering advice, help, brutal truth moments, and there was a cute little side-plot of two of her gay friends both working up the nerve to ask each other out, and asking Lexi for advice on it, and I am there for LGBT+ stories with LGBT+ friend groups living their own lives alongside the main plot.
There were so many deep-dive character touches in this one, from Lexi's tattoos and cloud-talking to Charlotte's slow realizations about how she was living her life thanks to a cruise-ship friendship and stepping outside her usual routine.
I adored this. (It almost made me reconsider my "being on a cruise ship sounds like introvert hell," opinion too, which is amazing.)
Wonderful, genuine, and feel-good all around
