Sometimes the most twisted secrets come from your own past...

Seven years after her little sister drowned in a lake, Kate is finally beginning to heal from Emily's tragic death. Until one night, after returning to her hometown, she sees the one face she never thought she'd see again.

It's Emily.

The girl is all grown up now, but Kate knows her sister's face better than anyone. The chilling sighting reignites the doubts Kate has always had about Emily's drowning, and forces her to revisit all the mysterious circumstances that surrounded that day.

With the help of her high school ex-boyfriend, Kate desperately tries to track down the girl she saw. She discovers shocking secrets from the past, confronts her own guilt from that day, and faces buried demons from her childhood.

The more she digs, the more she becomes obsessed with uncovering the answer to one question:

What really happened to Emily?

The story had a good plot but the AI voice was terrible. Zero emotion and mispronunciation of words. I would read more from the author but never listen to an AI narrator again.

I liked and enjoyed all the characters in this book. They seem to be very. I had a good deal of sympathy for the female character and her problems. This book was a little bit sad but had a very good and intriguing Ending,

What I know now was a book I liked.

Virtual voice is a terrible narrator. There is inaccurate inflections when they even happen. It is very robotic sounding and takes away from the story of this book. I hope this is not going to be a new trend in audio books. It will be a huge disservice to the authors & readers.

Storyline is good but at times rushed and doesn’t make sense in a few scenes. It made too many things unbelievable and even cheesy in what is overall a very serious book.

Do not listen to this but read the book instead
