Six months after the Apocalypse

Adrian will soon discover if the choices he’s made have cost him a son. Even Angela can’t be sure. Neither can any of the others like her. The power of the descendants is growing, and so is Safe Haven's awareness of having magic in their midst. Angela is no longer the only seer in Adrian’s camp of survivors…if she ever was.

Now on the way to Arkansas, these battered refugees will face a more dangerous threat than the slavers. Furious at the latest bloodshed between lawless groups of humanity, Mother Nature has declared her own war, repeatedly unleashing her fury against everyone. The apocalypse has never been more lethal as the aftermath continues to take its toll on what remains of the great human herd.

After listening to the first two books, I became accustomed to the narrator’s voice. Now a new narrator. This one doesn’t t have the range of tones to clearly distinguish between characters, the mens voices seem to be said with gritted teeth, or growled in anger even when it’s not in the story. All men characters sound the same, to the point that it’s difficult to tell who’s talking with a “said Ken” or “Adrian accused” etc. it’s only slightly better for female voices.
In addition, it’s narrated in such low tones, I feel I have to turn the volume up in order to hear some parts.
Love the books, but please choose a narrator and use them in all the audible series. I know that can be difficult, but continuity makes us readers/listener’s experience so much better.
I’m on chapter 6 and struggling to make it through this one, I used to think of errands to do so I could escape my kids and drive & listen!

Disappointed

I love this series and am so happy to see more of the books here on Audible.

The series is big in story and in length. I always anticipate the latest release with impatience.
