On The Chase

Book two in the series. Great story. The K9 aspect of the series drew me and the characters kept me. Grace's prince charming turned out to be related to a vicious monster. Seeing his torture room and helping some of his uncle's victims escape before she can do so herself. Her friend's connection to a women's shelter gives her a lead so she can escape and hide.
Her hiding place is with Jules and her siblings from book one.
Hugh, wisecracking, egotistical, can't help but love the guy, K9 cop on medical leave, can't resist her any more than she can resist him. Both have enemies who are after them. Will they live to figure out if they can work together?
The two enjoy banter that keeps the serious situation lighter. There is action, valor, friendship, and loyalty. I enjoyed this one maybe even more than the first one and can't wait until next year for big-bad Oscar's story.

Now that’s a story! Hugh is a character that we can all get behind. He’s a smart, sexy man with a sense of humor that knows no ends. But he has a serious side, the side that carries a badge and knows he will do whatever it takes to keep himself and his K9 partner in one piece.

When he meets Grace, she becomes his focus. There is something about the beautiful woman hat has him needing to do whatever he can to help her with her problems and make them go away. When they’re both out in danger, Hugh proves just that. He will do anything to keep this woman, a woman he’s falling for, safe.

It’s a wild ride and I have to say, I really like Hugh so I’m glad he got his second chance with her.

Action packed!

Kaylee and Hugh's story left me wondering how many lives they actually had? They almost died so many times I lost count! This was an action packed story! I missed book 1 in this series, but will have to go back to read it since those characters played a big part in this story as well. It didn't take away from this story though.

There was non-stop action as Kaylee and Hugh fell for each other. Their banter was witty and real and I loved it. I loved how snarky they were to each other and how much their relationship felt real even though it was happening so quickly. It was a good read and I'm excited to read the next one.

I would have loved to hear Hugh's voice from a male narrator, but this narrator did a good job with the story.

In this book Kailee witness a bad crime and Is sent into hiding. She changed her name to Gracie. Hugh which was Theos friend from the first book takes a liking to her. But the secrets is a problem. Finally he finds out and goes out of his way to protect her. I wish the K9 Dogs were in the book more but it's still a great book. This is a great series.
