Ryan Kaine is on the run . . .

A seemingly routine operation ends in tragedy when eighty-three civilians are killed in an aircraft explosion. Kaine, a highly decorated former Royal Marine, becomes the target of a nationwide manhunt; the police want him on terrorism charges, and a sinister organization wants him dead.

In a desperate attempt to prove his innocence, Kaine is forced to rely on two women he barely knows-a country veterinarian who treats his wounds and an IT expert with a dark secret of her own. Kaine must battle his overwhelming guilt, life-threatening injuries and strong moral code as he hunts for the people who turned him into a mass-murderer.

Using his skill in combat, gut instincts, and new-found allies, can Kaine uncover the truth and find redemption before the net finally closes?

If you like Lee Child, Mark Dawson, and Robert Ludlum, you're going to find the Ryan Kaine series compulsively addictive.

Starts well but increasingly hard to suspend your disbelief. The brilliant narrator rescues it, his sonorific voice is a pleasure to listen to.

Rather unlikely plot rescued by brilliant narration

nothing. the characters were well developed and it had a very good storyline. The story followed a very path.

The story is ok. I would usually give it another try, and see if the next book is an improvement on the first. But, I can't handle all of the yelling. Usually when there is a character that gets excited or starts yelling there's a slight 'half a notch' increase in volume. In this book however, every time there was an increase in volume it was rather significant (more like two notches of volume increase). I tried adjusting the equalizer and other settings on my headphones but couldn't find a sweet spot where I could comfortably hear the regular narration and the more intense scenes. Not sure if this is a production or narrator issue.

This was a fast-paced read with bad guys that you love to hate. I did feel like the main character was a little too naive and trusting, but only when it suited the plot. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Lots of action
